Default DSA Athlete Harry Innis off to NCAA Division I – UNM

The Dynamic Sports Academy based in Finsbury Park, North London (http://dynamicsportsacademy.com), is pleased to announce its latest athlete placement to the U.S.A for American Football, with Harry Innis, 22, going to NCAA Division I’s University of New Mexico.

Harry has been training with the DSA since March 2009 and has quickly become one of their leading athletes through a tenacious attitude to self-development and hard work. While being on the DSA program his physical abilities have grown exponentially; his squat has increased from 80kg (180lbs) to 320kg (720lbs), Hang Clean from 70kg (155lbs) to 125kg (280lbs), and Bench Press from 100kg (225lbs) to 160kg (360lbs) during his time with DSA, with all other aspects of his training being evaluated and improved including Nutrition, SAQ, Mental Conditioning, Eye Vision training to name a few.

Harry, from Bromley, Kent, plays tight end and is has been training this season with the London Cobras, having previously spent two seasons with the Kent Exiles. He will be moving to Alberqueque, New Mexico in July where he will be undertaking a Sport Science degree while joining The Lobos. This is the first time a British trained player has received an offer to play for a Div I-A University with the opportunity to play in stadiums with over 80,000 capacity.

UNM currently has 9 graduates playing in the NFL, including 6 times Pro Bowler Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears. Another Linebacker looks to be the next Lobos to enter the NFL; Carmen Messina, the 6’2” 222 lb All-American led the nation last year with 162 tackles in just twelve games. UNM play within the Mountain West Conference had 13 players taken as part of the NFL draft in April this year.

The Lobos kick-off their season with a bang against current Pac-10 champions and last year’s Rose Bowl runners-up the University of Oregon Ducks, they then welcome high-scoring Texas Tech and the University of Utah (who were ranked second in the nation following the 2008 season) in consecutive weeks. In addition their schedule concludes with big games against Brigham Young University, the only non-BCS school ever to win a national championship, and finally a visit from Texas Christian University who were ranked No. 3 in the nation last year following an unbeaten season.

Harry is the latest British athlete the DSA have assisted in continuing their educational and playing careers within the U.S.A. with recent announcements on Charlie Joseph and Franklin Nwokeji, as well as Duncan Aldous all success stories from the DSA-IRP (International Recruitment Program).

If you are interested in training with the DSA, and/or continuing your sporting career and education overseas, then get in touch with Coach Klemens on adrian@dynamicsportsacademy.com for more details.
